Snehpanam Ayurvedic Treatment

Snehpanam Ayurvedic treatment is the oral intake of medicated ghee(clarified butter). with medicinal herbs. Snehpanam word comes from two Sanskrit words Sneh means Oil and Panam means To drink.

Snehpanam (internal oleation) is a preparatory procedure for Panchkarma therapies. Panchkarma therapy aims at removing any imbalances in the three doshas.

Snehpanam helps dissolve toxins present in the whole body and this helps mobilization of doshas and prepare the body for further therapies.

 

Snehpanam is done early in the morning after attending to the calls of nature, on an empty stomach.

The dosage and type of shen to be consumed is decided depending on the health, age, diagnosed illness, and digestive capacity of the patient.

This therapy lasts from 3 to 7 days depending on the condition of the patient and the illness being treated.

It is helpful in cleansing the intestines to remove various toxins and vitiated doshas from the body.
