It is a medicated fomentation therapy wherein medicated powders, and heated herbs are tied in cloth bags and the body is massaged with these bags while dipping them in hot herbal decoctions. This reduces inflammation in affected areas hence reducing muscle and joint pains.<\/p>\n<p>There are various types of Kizhi treatment, which are called by different names according to the medicines used in it. They include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ela Kizhi Treatment: In this treatment, medicinal herbs along with powders are kept in a bag of cloth. It is dipped in hot medicated oil and applied to the body or affected area.<\/li>\n<li>Njavara Kizhi Treatment: This kizhi uses cooked medicinal rice blended with medicated powders.
